Bruce’s Ongoing Archival Concert Albums Continue
The latest in Springsteen’s series of shows being packaged for CD consumption continues with the release of ‘Continental Airlines Arena East Rutherford N.J. July 15 1999.’ It was a joyous night. A reunion of America’s greatest band.
What Bruce Song Is This? “Sugarland”?
Los Angeles Singer-Songwriter Cole Gallagher has recorded a cover version of perhaps Springsteen’s least known song. It’s on his new ‘The Confluence’ EP. The song, “Sugarland,” was recorded by the E Street Band in ’83. It had a shot to be included on ‘84’s ‘Born In The USA’ but didn’t make the cut.
Bruce Honors Darlene Love With Platinum Album Award
It happened November 30 when Darlene Love performed her annual “Love For The Holidays” show at Town Hall in New York City. Out came Bruce with a special mission: to present the legendary singer with a platinum album for sales in excess of one million copies for the 1963 pioneering ‘A Christmas Gift For You From Phil Spector’ which introduced her “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).”
Bruce Grammy Nomination
Bruce Springsteen has been nominated for a Grammy Award for the 51st time. (He’s won 20.) His album ‘Only The Strong Survive’ will compete as “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album” against ‘Sondheim Unplugged (The NYC Sessions)’ by Various Artists, ‘Holidays Around The World’ by Pentatonix, ‘Bewitched’ by Lauley, ‘Pieces Of Treasure’ by Rickie Lee Jones and ‘To Steve With Love: Liz Calloway Celebrates Sondheim.’
Bruce Surprises Everyone at ‘Stand Up For Heroes’ Benefit
The Bob Woodruff Foundation’s annual “Stand Up For Heroes” benefit usually features Bruce Springsteen but this year, he was to be in Canada with the E Street crew until an ulcer forced him off the road. Yet there he was, on November 6, at David Geffen Hall within Lincoln Center in New York City, onstage solo for acoustic versions of “Dancing In The Dark,” “Working On The Highway,” “The Power Of Prayer” and “Addicted To Romance.”

Bruce Kicks Off Plans For A Bigger Space To House His Stuff
Monmouth University in West Long Branch announced recently it would build a building to house its Springsteen Archives. The plan for the $45 million structure—not due until 2026—is to erect a 30,000-square foot space containing a 230-seat concert room, artifact exhibits, workshops, symposia, film screenings and lectures.
Bruce Readies New SiriusXM Show
It’s been awhile since we’ve had anything new from Bruce Springsteen’s terrific radio show, “From My Home To Yours,” heard on satellite radio’s SiriusXM. Now that he’s off the road, though, he’s put together some tunes in his role as disc jockey that demand to be heard. This new installment will be broadcast Monday, October 9 at 10:00 a.m., be repeated, and then be available on-demand.

The news from the Bruce camp came Wednesday: “Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have postponed all performances currently scheduled for September 2023, beginning with…Syracuse…Mr. Springsteen is being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease and the decision of his medical advisors is that he should postpone the remainder of his September shows.”
