Bruce Cancels All Shows For The Rest Of The Year

As Bruce Springsteen, 74, deals with his recent diagnosis of peptic ulcer disease, he has been advised by his doctors “out of an abundance of caution,” to not perform again until 2024. He is “steadily recovering,” according to a press release from the Bruce camp. He had previously postponed all September shows while being treated for what has been described as a serious disease “which causes ulcers to form in the stomach or small intestine that can cause internal bleeding, heartburn, nausea,  intense pain and a perforation of the ulcer through the stomach.” Meds, including proton pump inhibitors like Prilosec, can cure it completely.

Baltimore, Philadelphia, Albany, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Connecticut, Canada, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Ohio will just have to wait. As soon as they are rescheduled, this space will have those dates. “Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement and support” says Bruce. “I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”
