Let the debate begin…
Maggie, Terre and Suzzy Roche were born in Park Ridge, Bergen County, singing and writing songs since they were pre-teens. Discovered by folk icon Dave Van Ronk in Greenwich Village when they dared to enter an open-mic competition, Paul Simon loved them so much, he had them sing on There Goes Rhymin' Simon in '73, and produced their '75 Seductive Reasoning album. King Crimson's Robert Fripp produced their '79 self-titled album, from which "The Married Men" was first recorded. It moves from #73 to #66 this month on the Jersey Sound Hot 100. Maggie, who died in 2017 at 65, wrote the song. It was covered by Linda Ronstadt and Phoebe Snow.
