The Break Plans Celebrate Debut EP With Hometown Wonder Bar Show
Asbury Park band The Break Plans will celebrate the November 15 release of their debut Mistakes Are A Friend Of Mine EP by performing live at The Wonder Bar Saturday. Their “Happy Again” single comes out tomorrow. The song has been described as “a reminder that happiness is attainable, even after enduring heartbreak.” It also makes mention “of the innocent fun days with a new significant other” and is highlighted by a “soft acoustic guitar rhythm accompanied by lyrical electric guitar solos” and its “catchy sing-along chorus.”
Long praised for their “anthemic pop sensibility,” the young band—together since 2019—with its 1990s indie-pop retro feel amid its contemporary influences, has crafted a timeless yet refreshingly current sound. They call it “poptimistic.” Vocalist Colton Braun, guitarist Mikey Strawz and drummer Dan Carr have already amassed 250,000+ streams. Their “Fashionably Late” placed in the Top 40 of iHeart’s and Mediabase’s Adult Contemporary Charts for 12 weeks. They have procured for themselves an ambassadorship with Slate Digital’s wireless mic series and are currently signed to MGM Distribution and the Sentric Music Group.
