Paterson Songstress Jalisa Rey Releases Sophomore EP

‘Mixy’ is the second effort of Paterson singer-songwriter Jalisa Rey (she’s since left her Passaic County  home for the  glitz of Los Angeles). The seven-tracks—produced by Pagani and JulesTheWulf—are filled with regret, lust and unfiltered emotion. Opener “FSW” has her opining “I want you but you’re too damn toxic…I don’t want to share you with nobody.” The regret comes with “Cross The Line”—“I know  you probably think I’m crazy but I’m still on you.” “How I Like It” features rapper T-Shyne in a provocative tale of purposely initiating arguments just to have the kind of make-up sex she has in “Rounds.” “No Feelings” is about partying without remorse. “Bad Thing” is Rey at her most vulnerable.  Closer “On My Own Wave” is an anthem of resilience.
