Over 100 Jazz Students To Celebrate Jazz Day With Free Concert

The next generation of jazz stars will be on display at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark April 26 at 4:30 p.m. when over 100 of them will perform for free in honor of International Jazz Day on April 30. The local young musicians are from NJPAC’s “Jazz For Teens” program, Christian McBride’s “Jazz House Kids” project, with students from Riverdale Country School in the Bronx and Susan E. Wagner High School in Staten Island. Hosted by WBGO’s Sheila Anderson, you have to register for your free tickets at https://www.njpac.org/.  

NJPAC released a statement that reads, in part, “International Jazz Day in Newark highlights the power of jazz as a force for freedom and creativity, promotes intercultural dialogue through respect and understanding, and unites people from all corners of the region.”
