Independent Filmmaker Dennis P. Laverty Finishes Bobby Bandiera Documentary
Early in his career, singer-songwriter-guitarist Bobby Bandiera, 70, of Orange in Essex County, worked with Nick Massi of The Four Seasons before getting involved with bands from down the shore like Holme, Cats on a Smooth Surface and Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes. In what Jay Lustig of www.njarts.net calls a “remarkable career,” he’s also worked with Bon Jovi, Bruce and Welsh rocker Dave Edmunds.
Dennis P. Laverty—creator of such indie documentaries on Southside Johnny, Clarence Clemons and John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band—has finished a three-hour doc on Bandiera with concert footage, interviews, photo stills and clips from the Aquarian Weekly and other regional newspapers. One priceless clip has Bandiera performing with Bon Jovi at the White House.
