Meet… The Dust-Ups
With members from Roselle Park, Somerville, Hasbrouck Heights and Belvidere, The Dust-Ups lace their Americana with alt-country, honky-tonk, rock’n’roll and folk. Their self-titled upbeat 10-song debut came out digitally last month containing a road anthem with plenty of pedal steel, a rockin’ murder ballad, a country power-pop synthesis plus nods to Cajun and Surf Rock. Word has it their live shows are dynamite. Singer Ryan Chatelain kicked around New Orleans for a while soaking up the vibe. Relocating to Jersey, he put word out on social media for likeminded souls to complete his vision. Multi-Instrumentalist Joe Palmisano was the first to hook up and the two became first a duo and then the DNA of The Dust-Ups. Now a four-piece, you can catch their energetic set in Chatham as part of Brook Valley Farm’s Great Swamp Music Fest on May 19.
