Meet… Nikki & The Skyrockets

There’s a vibrant scene of musicians coming out of Jersey City these days. Singer/Songwriter Nicole Bozzuto, of Nikki & The Skyrockets, writes of weariness with the road yet, at the same time, loving the feeling of movement, which we’ve learned from Willie Nelson is the closest feeling to being truly free. The eight songs on their brand new Late Last Night house this wanderlust, couched in dramatically personal  terms.

Recorded in Vermont and Brooklyn, the album recreates their Americana live sound, pushing Nikki’s voice to the forefront. It’s an instantly iconic voice, carrying with it all the pain and love of the wandering minstrel. Released January 30—with Nicole Bozzuto, vocals, acoustic guitar, songs; Paul Grossman, bass; Sid Whelan, vocals, guitars, keys, percussion, drums, production; Erika Bracy, vocals; Chrissy Roberts, vocals; and Robert Weiss, drums—Late Last Night captures the creativity distilled by the lifestyle of the traveling musician.

To that end, they can be heard back home in Jersey City February 17 at 902 Brewing, February 18 at Fox & Crow with Gregory McLoughlin & the Lemonade Band and March 10 at Corgi Spirits.
